_Situated just 2.5km to the west of the city center of Funchal, very close to the the popular Forum Madeira shopping center, this modern furnished and spacious 1 bedroom apartment offers accommodation for the discerning holiday maker.
The apartment is located on the 5th floor with a view to both the beautiful Atlantic ocean and the Mountain. The bedroom contains a luxurious king size bed and in the small store you will find two sturdy fold up beds for the use of children. The bathroom is fitted with a hairdrier for your convenience. The comfortable lounge furnished with two leather twin seat couches is leading out onto the West facing balcony with a small table and 2 chairs. The sea view towards the south and view of the mountain towards the north provides the ideal setting for a late afternoon sun-downer. For the rare day that the weather requires you to stay indoors there is a TV with hundreds of movies and animation movies to watch. The well equipped kitchen contains everything you will need for your self catering holiday. The fridge freezer is large enough to allow you to buy your fresh produce and safely store it for the duration of your stay. Should you hire a car to explore the island during your holiday, you can park it in the secure underground parking dedicated to this apartment. The apartment complex has a beautiful communal pool that is normally very quiet. There is also a play area for small children to climb and slide to their hart's content while you relax in the sun on the available deck chairs around the pool. _The Forum Madeira Shopping Center with a supermarket, food court and a number of exclusive shops are approximately 300 meters away, within an very easy walking distance.
This The Forum Madeira shopping mall is situated in the tourist and hotel zone just to the west of central Funchal. The area is called Ajuda. It has a contemporary architecture that gives the visitor an experience of spaciousness and an open air feeling with lost of neural light entering the gallery-style shops. It is arranges across a number of levels that is arranged around a central tower and open plaza. The Forum Madeira mall also features a roof garden from where spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean are possible. The 86 shops includes 17 restaurants, cafés and snack bars, 6 cinemas and a hypermarket. Forum Madeira presents an exceptionally pleasant shopping experience for everything one would expect to find in a modern shopping mall. oOo The Promenade_One of the most pleasant and popular walks in Madeira is along the seafront promenade in Funchal. The
promenade, runs along the southern coastline of Madeira, where you can
stroll along to the Lido area, admiring the
gardens and view the passing flotilla of craft that is made up of all
sorts necessary for the variety of water sport runs a few hundred meters
further south.
The promenade stretches from the bottom of Santa Catarina Park, passes the Marina and continues all the way to the cable car terminal at the Jardim do Almirante Reis. oOo _The Funchal City Center_The city center is in easy reach via public bus (take
yellow bus number 01 for the city center) or use the ever present yellow taxis. Some people make
the journey on foot and utilizes this to try the various restaurants and
bars on the way.
Funchal city centre is a significant tourist town in its own right, this is flanked by the old town to the East. Despite Funchal being the Capital of Madeira and, as a result a bustling city., tree-lined waterfront promenade allows the visitor to experience a more relaxing pace of life is that completely in tune with the needs of the holidaymaker on the lookout for a relaxing holiday atmosphere. to the west of Funchal, the Ajuda area tends to get more sunshine than
Funchal itself and the eastern end of the island in general, which
means that at when Funchal and the eastern part of the island is
covered with clouds, the Ajuda area is a sunbathe paradise.
Ajuda is only 2,5 Km from central Funchal and it is possible to walk the mainly flat route into town in less than 30 minutes, or take one of the many municipal buses that departs at regular intervals from very close to the apartment building. As in most cities of the world Taxis are generally available and maintained in good order. Ajuda is ideal for shopping with an extensive number of excellent shops, cafes restaurants and banks, all of which are in easy walking distance from the apartment. The modern Forum Madeira shopping center includes a food court, some excellent clothing shops and a large supermarket for all your grocery needs. oOo |

Sightseeing Options
There are a wide variety of possible sightseeing trips that is popular. Below are some of the most popular ones.
1.
Enjoy Pico dos Barcelos' panoramic view over Funchal with the Deserted Islands in the background and after that head to Eira do Serrado on a road that winds its way up to 1000 meters above sea-level.
2.
Visit Camacha and its wickerwork factory, and continue going to Santana to see the traditional triangular thatched houses.
3.
For all the flower lovers the Rose Gardens (São Jorge) is a must. Here you will find the biggest rose collection in Portugal. It is a good idea to include a walk in Ribeiro Frio and a lunch in Quinta do Arco.
4.
Opened since 2004 the Madeira Theme Park at Santana offers something to young and old, alike. Situated on the north side of the island in Santana this 17 acres theme park offers a combination of attractions and services, related to cultute, history and nature in Madeira.

The most popular half day tour in Madeira is the Nuns Valley. This was considered the crater of the extinct volcano. Down at the bottom is a village which the Nuns sought sanctuary, centuries ago and the views from above are breathtaking.

The Funchal sightseeing bus (the yellow bus), will take you on an informative, hop on, hop off tour of the city, with a digital audio guide with commentaries in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and of course Portuguese.
